Little Water Tarn is tucked away in a private cul-de-sac on Neaum Crag and commands a south westerly view across this ancient woodland estate. This delightful home from home is a short drive from many of the popular Lake District destinations including Ambleside, Grasmere, Windermere, Hawkshead and even Keswick is just a short 30-minute drive from this location.

On entering Little Water Tarn, you enter an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The lounge features a 2-seater sofa and 2 leather chairs. The living area has a Smart TV with DVD player, electric wood burner effect fire to keep you cosy during cold evenings and free Wi-Fi, so you can plan your day ahead.

From the living area you enter a dining area, which features a dining table and chairs, from here you enter the light shaker style kitchen which has everything you need for a self-catering holiday, including electric oven, electric hob with extractor, microwave, undercounter fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, and kettle.

This holiday lodge features two bedrooms, the first is a good-sized double bedroom with wardrobes and dresser unit, with views out onto the decking area and woodland beyond. The second is a twin bedroom, with two full sized single beds and fitted wardrobes.

The bathroom is fitted with a 3-piece suite including WC, wash hand basin and electric shower perfect for refreshing after a long day exploring the surrounding fells or taking a dip in Loughrigg Tarn. There is also the addition of shave/light point and large electric towel rail.

Outside the property there is private parking for two cars and a great enclosed area perfect for dogs. The outside space also features comfy garden furniture and wooden bench where you can dine alfresco or just open your favourite bottle of wine and enjoy the long summer evenings from. One of the best things about Neaum Crag is the number of red squirrels in the area and guests always comment on how amazing it was to be able to catch a glimpse of one.

The property also has access to the onsite swimming pool, games room and Laundry all located just a short walk from Little Water Tarn. Open daily from 1st March - 15th November.

Little Water Tarn is a great option for families or couples looking for their next holiday in the Lake District and with it being just a 10-minute drive from Ambleside it makes a great base for exploring most of the Lake District’s attractions. We recommend heading out on foot via Loughrigg Tarn, roughly a 10/15-min walk from the estate entrance, where you will find some of the most spectacular views without any effort, a favourite by far!

If you want to extend your walk turning right from the Tarn footpath gate, heading towards Grasmere on the road, you’ll find the enchanting High Close YHA Arboretum with an array of ancient trees, you can spend an afternoon following the interactive High Close Tree Trail, and end up in Low Wood which nestles to the left of the Arboretum, during the month of May it offers a carpet of bluebells as far as the eyes can see.
